7.  What wines do we get to try?

Try 5 wines from Pellegrino vineyards, located in the westernmost part of Sicily, which is characterized by a great variety of microclimates that are considered the most suitable for grape growing. The Pellegrino family has since 1880 personally overseen the activities in the vineyard and in the winery, and the family is still today, having reached the seventh generation, involved daily in the management of the company. A long family history made up of respect, care, love and dedication, of values handed down from father to son, make it today one of the greatest families of Sicilian wine.

The cost is free and includes five sample wines:

  • Traimari Bianco Frizzante:  It has intense and persistent with notes of citrus, white peach, lilac and jasmine. Taste is dry, crisp, moderately fresh, with a long aromatic persistence. Pairing is excellent as an aperitif and with plates of shellfish.
  • Gibelè Zibibbo Secco: The bouquet has an intense aroma of jasmine and lavender, with hints of green apples and citrons. The favor is dry and fresh, with a long lingering taste of citrus fruit, yellow peaches and green apples.
  • Gazzerotta Nero d'Avola: Appears an intense and bright red color in the glass. Very fruity to the nose, with a prevalence of red fruit and slightly ripe fruit notes. A slight spiciness accompanies the aroma of violet and the sweet notes of chestnut honey. The palate is warm, moderately soft and sapid, with a good tannic finish.
  • Passimora: Produced from grapes slightly dried in the warm Sicilian sun with a red character, charming and persistent, captivating from the very first sip and pure expression of the island. The bouquet exhibits delicate hints of red fruit and pomegranate, accompanied by sweet notes of dried plum and candied fruit. Soft, warm, persistent and pleasantly tannic.
  • Old John Marsala Riserva: A semi-dry fortified wine with elegance and aromatic complexity. It shows off a very rich but subtle bouquet, in which you can recognize many yellow flowers, hay, hazelnuts, sweet spices and aromatic herbs. The taste is soft, warm, slightly sweet and persistent, supported by a saline freshness.
